This Jack and Jill bench is inexpensive to make and is a simple construction.

It has been designed for simplicity, comfort, and cost-to-build.

The downloadable file includes Materials list, Cutting detail,
Plan drawings with dimensions, construction photos, isometric drawings, and step-by-step building instructions.

Very comfortable indeed. The bench is made solely out of 2″x3″ (75mm x 50mm ) and 1″x6″ (150mm x 25mm) rough sawn wood.
I used rough sawn (not dressed, planed, or dimensioned) because (a) I like it, and (b) it is cheaper.

The measurements are given in both standard (inch) and metric (mm). So have your pick.

This is the wood you will need:
13 meters (43ft) of 2″x3″ (75mmx50mm ) wood.
13.5 meters (45ft ) of 1″x6″ (150mmx25mm) wood.

An awesome project to make.

  1. Really appreciate the metric sizing provided. The diagrams are wonderfully clear with the pictures to link it all to reality. Thanks so much Kenny, I made the bench for my mum, she loves it so your work is giving pleasure all the way over here in New Zealand. It was easy to make due to the failsafe detail (I am a learner).
