Easy to make picnic table that will comfortably seat 8 people.
A solid 8ft (2.4m) long picnic table constructed out of 2×6 (50x150mm) lumber. This downloadable PDF file includes plan drawings, shopping list, cutting list with a plan drawing of every angled piece, and step-by-step building instructions with plenty of helpful drawings. Also drawings of where all the screws and bolts go.
The plans are written in both Imperial (ft and inches) and metric (mm).
To build the picnic table you will need:
19 pieces of 2×6 (50 x 150mm) lumber 8ft (2.4m) long.
122 exterior wood screws @ 3″ (75mm) long.
64 exterior wood screws @ 4″ (100mm) long.
12 only 1/2″ (12mm) galvanized carriage/coach bolts 4-1/2″ (120mm) long with washers and nuts

Following the plan step by step made it a success.
This being said I did cut the seat Cleary and table cleat at a 5 degree angle. Lot nicer!
I followed the instruction for the angled piece instruction for brace “H” …. Did not fit. I had to recut them so they would fit.
All this said the table is great, very solid and with a the right specifications. I am 6 foot 4 inches and the table is comfortable and will probably outlast me.
Perfect, my son and had it together in one day.
My husband and I are not builders, and this made the process of building a table so easy! I loved the shopping list, very convenient.
We only had a few issues…
There are two sizes of needed screws listed, but rarely are sizes mentioned in the actual build. We could’ve got by with a box of one size I think.
At the “put the boards on top” stage, it tells you to put both outside boards on the edges, then fill in the middle. Luckily we measured first, because our boards are slightly bigger than listed. At the end of the pack it does mention board variations, but of course I hadn’t read that far yet!
